INTERNAL MEDICINE RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTOR
The new Program Director will enter this position at an exciting time! Under the leadership of a new Chair, the Department of Medicine has set forth a vision of providing an outstanding training experience in a supportive environment that emphasizes high value clinical care, vast opportunities for academic and scholarly pursuits, and a depth of understanding in the health system sciences that will allow our graduates to be leaders in all areas of specialty and subspecialty internal medicine. The Department is committed to providing the necessary resources to ensure the success of the new Program Director.
Successful candidate must demonstrate expertise in there are of clinical care as well as leadership and administrative skills that will result in innovative curricular advances for this well-established program of approximately 70 categorical and preliminary residents. In addition, the Program Director will collaborate with the leadership in the 12 fellowship programs within the Department, the associated Penn State Cancer Institute and Penn State Heart and Vascular Institute, and the Program Director for the combined Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Training Program.
Medical degree - M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent;
Completion of an accredited residency program;
Ability to acquire a license for the practice of medicine in the State of Pennsylvania;
Significant administrative involvement in graduate medical education for more than 5 years, with at least 2 years at the level of Program Director or Associate Program Director;
Meet all qualifications as put forth by the ACGME Common Program Requirements for the Internal Medicine Residency Program Director
