JOB SUMMARY:

High functioning position, responsible to maintain knowledge and skill set in two different imaging modalities. Independently performs diagnostic cardiac and vascular ultrasounds to the high quality standards of MSHMC and meets imaging protocol standards for both modalities per International Accreditation Commission (IAC).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from a 2-4 year allied health or ultrasound program, with the exception of a candidate who was credentialed prior to the 2001 ARDMS prerequisite change.

Current ARDMS or CCI certification in either Adult Echocardiography or Vascular Technology and registry eligible for second specialty upon hire. Second registry must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

2 years experience in a dedicated vascular or echocardiography laboratory.

Current BCLS certification or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, as well as pathology and treatments of disease processes.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good computer/typing/word processing skills.

Ability to make sound clinical decisions in a fast paced environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3 years experience performing cardiac and vascular ultrasound preferred.
