JOB SUMMARY:

Penn State Health St. Joseph is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to work with our vascular surgery team. Candidates with knowledge and experience in vascular surgery preferred, but exceptional candidates will be trained.

Responsibilities will include: independently completing rounds on the inpatient service, conducting consultations, processing discharges, managing pre- and post-op orders, educating patients, screening outpatient consult requests and prioritizing scheduling.

Candidates should have experience or be willing to learn/do procedures such as central line insertions, dialysis catheter insertions, varicose vein injections and cosmetic laser procedures. Candidates may need to assist in surgery, but this is not mandatory. If necessary, candidates will be trained to do wound closures. All procedures will be performed under direct physician supervision.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.

- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

Experience:

- Three years of staff nursing work experience.

- Previous experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred; experience in Vascular Surgery is a plus.

License/Certification:

- Current State Licensure as a Registered Nurse required.

- Current license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (with prescriptive authority) in the State.

- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
